1. Enquiries and project agreements
Chain Reaction Technologies provides digital and creative services from Lusaka, Zambia. Sending an enquiry does not place an order or commit you to a purchase.
Before paid work starts, we agree the scope, deliverables, price, payment stages and expected schedule in writing. Your accepted quote or project agreement takes priority over this general outline where its terms differ, subject to applicable law. These draft terms are not an active client agreement.
2. Prices and payment
Website prices are in Zambian kwacha (ZMW) and are starting points for the stated service packages. Your written quote confirms the total price and any applicable taxes or additional costs.
Our advertised payment arrangement is 50% to start and 50% on delivery, unless a different schedule is agreed in writing. The quote or invoice should state when each payment is due and what counts as delivery.
Domain registration, hosting, app store charges and other third-party fees are separate unless expressly included in your quote. Any recurring fees and who pays them should be agreed before those services are purchased.
3. Scope and revisions
The agreed scope defines what we will produce and which revisions are included. Additional pages, features, design directions or changes after approval may affect both price and delivery time.
We will discuss changes and confirm any extra cost and revised schedule in writing before carrying out additional work.
4. Timelines and your input
Project dates depend on the agreed scope, receipt of the initial payment, access to required systems and timely content, feedback and approvals. Dependencies on third-party providers may also affect delivery.
You are responsible for supplying accurate content and materials you have permission to use. If information or approvals are delayed, we will discuss the effect on the schedule rather than assume the original dates still apply.
5. Review and handover
The project agreement should set out how you review and approve the work, what files or account access you receive, and any training or deployment included. Please raise issues against the agreed scope during the review process.
Any launch date, final payment requirement, acceptance period and post-delivery fixes should be recorded in that agreement. A project enquiry or payment alone does not define these details.
6. Ownership and licences
You retain ownership of materials you supply. Your project agreement should specify ownership or usage rights for the final deliverables, when those rights take effect and whether source or editable files are included.
Fonts, stock assets, plugins, open-source software and other third-party materials remain subject to their own licences. Any reusable tools or pre-existing materials we bring to a project should be identified, with the rights you need to use the finished work.
Any permission to feature your project in our portfolio should also be agreed, especially where the work is confidential or not yet public.
7. Cancellation and refunds
If you need to pause or cancel a project, contact us in writing as soon as possible. The project agreement should state how work already completed, approved third-party expenses and any unused part of an advance payment are handled.
Our proposed approach is to reconcile payments against completed work and agreed costs, and refund any unused balance where appropriate. The final cancellation and refund terms must be agreed before work begins. This draft does not make every deposit automatically non-refundable.
8. Support and external services
Ongoing maintenance, hosting management, content updates and future features are included only where your agreement says so. It should identify any support period, what it covers and the cost of continued support.
External services such as hosting, payment providers and app stores have their own terms, fees and availability. We cannot guarantee their approval decisions, uninterrupted availability, search rankings or a particular level of sales.
9. Privacy and confidentiality
Our Privacy Policy explains how website enquiries and applications are handled. Any requirements for confidential materials, access credentials or personal data processed during a client project should be agreed separately before that information is shared.
10. Questions and disagreements
If something is unclear or a problem arises, email hello@chainreactionzm.com so we can discuss it and record any resolution in writing. Nothing in these terms is intended to remove rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
The final project agreement should identify the contracting parties and the applicable law and dispute process.
